I read just some time ago that Janet Yellen is like a fairy godmother. Whenever she comes out to say something about the US interest rate hikes, the global stocks markets will rally. This is true as we have seen how her speech hinting at a more scaled down paced of interest rate hikes have prompted Singapore stocks markets to rally. But just as what a fairy tale is all about: it is fiction and today, Singapore stocks STI headed down by 1.11% , just as I believe many retail investors flock into the stocks markets, thinking that all is well, buying into stocks like bank counters which many analysts have given a bullish call.

Well, this is an interesting article on the above title.
Courts Asia stock rallied by a good 7.7% on 29 Mar 2016. Courts Asia stock is a “sleepy” stock and while others may be wondering what attributes to the rally of the stock, I am not surprised. Why? Well, there have been talks that Courts Asia could be privatized after Osim (you can read the article here . In a stocks markets where there are not many bullish factors, some investors may invest on potential privatization plays and possible privatization plays always include stocks which are trading below book value and which have good fundamentals; these include Wheelock Properties stock, Ho Bee Land stock and etc.

I believe everyone wants to become a millionaire? Who does not? But why is it some people succeed and become a millionaire while many people do not? Well, first of all, let us define what a millionaire is. A millionaire in Singapore is not one who posses liquid assets and cash equaling at least SGD $1,000,000. A millionaire is always defined based on the US dollars scale, hence a Singapore millionaire is one with liquid assets and cash equaling at least SGD $1,500,000. As a sharing, for myself, my financial dreams is not necessarily to become a millionaire but to have passive incomes which are more than my expenditures, that is in a nutshell, to become financially free.

DBS stock currently trades at $15.34 as of 24 March 2016; this is 5 % lower than the closing price of $16.02 as of 18 March 2016. In my previous post of 9 March 2016, I have shared with readers how the $16 resistance of DBS is quite strong and as of now, we note that DBS might not be able to convincingly break above this $16 resistance.

Janet Yellen has said at the just concluded Federal Reserve Open Markets Meeting (“FOMC”) what many investors have been thinking along: there will be no interest rate hike, for now. So is it time for Singapore investors to go back into the Singapore stocks markets and start buying stocks?
Tuesday, March 15, 2016
As I have shared with readers, the Singapore stocks STI should be waiting for the outcome of the Federal Reserves Open Market meeting (“FOMC”) and hence the STI was little changed for the trading day today. While some investors were buying or selling Singapore stocks, I was formulating a more reliable strategy to make sense of the Singapore stocks markets.

Investors may be wondering whether or not they should enter the Singapore stocks markets given that the Singapore stocks markets have headed up. Is it time to enter into a “rally” or has the Singapore stocks markets headed up rather significantly already?

Following OSim’s founder bid to take his firm private, it is inevitable that some investors are turning their focus on identifying the next possible Singapore privatization plays. This is especially so against the current stocks markets environment where there are not much of a catalyst for buying. So what are the next possible Singapore stocks which could be privatized next?
Saturday, March 12, 2016
Dr Tan Cheng Bock announced his second bid for the Singapore Presidency yesterday. Dr Tan Cheng Bock had many corporate and community portfolio and he was the Chairman of Chuan Hup Holdings, a listed company on the SGX until year 2011. Chuan Hup stock closed 1.85% after Dr Tan Cheng Bock announced his second bid for the Singapore Presidency. The stocks markets are driven by emotions and with Dr Tan and Chuan Hup stock being tossed in the limelight once more, will investors become interested in and turn their focus on Chuan Hup stock?

So we have Osim stock, which will become privatized if shareholders approve of the delisting decision. The potential delisting of Osim stock is yet another delisting of a good stock in the Singapore stocks markets but more importantly, it points to one fact of the SGX, collectively with many earlier delisting of stocks in Singapore such as Goodpack: that apart from not being able to attract new IPOs, there can be a trend of the current listed companies deciding to delist off SGX. There could be a couple of reasons behind each and every stock seeking a delist but I would not be surprised that low trading liquidity in the Singapore stocks markets could be a reason.

In my previous posts, I have shared with readers how bank counters are the more defensive favorites which have been riding up and how DBS stock was one of these stocks for investors when it was trading around $13 plus per share. We are now seeing some kind of “profit taking” on the Singapore stocks markets and hence banking shares have also moved less “north”. So is it a good time to buy the three banking stocks in Singapore: DBS, OCBC and UOB?

While many investors may be chasing after the Singapore stocks rally, I am already planning to sell off the stocks which have brought me profits by leveraging on the rally or should I say a bounce? And I am glad to have sold off all my stocks before the STI headed south by 1.58% today. Investors who thought that Keppel Corp stock, Sembcorp Industries, Sembcorp Marine stock have rebounded and bought into these stocks today will experience 6.9%, 9.1%, 6.7% south at the close of these stocks for today’s trading day.
Singapore stocks have been rallying and climbing higher. Some stocks which were “battered” before have made a rebound, these are the likes of energy and oil and gas counters. Banking counters also rebounded and it looks like investors who are looking into these stocks may ask whether it is still early to ride on these stocks or they will ask themselves whether the rally could sustain.

Noble Group stock reached a high of $0.42 on high volume on 4 Mar 2016, up by another 10.5%, which was a similar percentage point north for the stock on 3 Mar 2016. The rally in Noble Group stock came amidst the company announcing that it has completed the sale of Noble Agriculture and on the back of the announcement that Noble Group would be removed from the list of STI constituents. An analyst mentioned that with Noble Group stock not being part of the STI, there would be more volatility for Noble Group stock as the stock might become less liquid. Well, when it comes to volatility, many people would think of volatility south, but I would think that volatility could only work north too. And also, I believe Noble Group stock should still be a liquid stock, offering investors and traders the opportunity to invest and trade although all these years of my investing and trading in this stock was based on this stock being part of the STI.

I have been crystalizing my investing and trading strategies gleaned from years of investing and trading in the Singapore Stocks markets. These investing and trading strategies stand the annals of time. Let me just share with you some of these strategies. First, many can say that the stocks markets are more volatile these days and it is not easy to make monies but there are still some fixed parameters which investors can leverage. One, good companies’ stocks will always be valued by investors. Two, like what Warren Buffet says: “Be greedy when others are fearful and be fearful when others are greedy”; hence there is always the emotions factor of investors since the early times of stocks markets.

I am happy that Noble Group continues to rally up by another 10.5% today, after a similar showing yesterday. I have been trading in and out of Noble Group stock for years and so far, I have profited for every trade and I am currently in the profits still with Noble Group stock. You can read from my Noble posts archives, read about how I advocate retail investors to buy Noble Group when the chips are down for the stock. Read about how my first investment was in Noble Group. Read about how I have been buying Noble Group stock despite Muddy Waters, Iceberg Research and two credit analysts giving the stock a “downgrade”, at a good timing of course.

Today, DBS stock advanced another 3.3% today to close the trading day at $14.71. On 18 Feb 2016, I shared with readers my bullish belief that the price gap of $14.53 to $14.62 for DBS stock has to be filled (you can read this post once again here. ). Hence the strong showing of DBS today filled this gap up and I am looking forward to the next “gap filling” of the price $14.98 to $15.08 for DBS stock next, which is another humble 2.5% gain but if the trend is to persist, DBS stock will head up more and from the stocks chart, I can see a resistance for DBS stock at $16, giving an upside for DBS stock of another 8.76%

Today, most Singapore stocks had a stellar showing as the STI went up 1.66% The banking stocks were especially buoyant, opening and closing for the trading day a gap up in terms of stocks candlesticks. Ezra stock continued to defy gravity by heading another 7.2% north. I am not able to explain why Ezra stock has been heading up and up and hence I should not focus on the stock. The rally in price might have prompted retail investors to join the “rally party” and buy Singapore stocks now. Well, my advice is that investors should do it via “tranches”. The global stocks markets may still not be the most buoyant yet and retail investors should not put so much capital into the stocks markets yet.
Tuesday, March 1, 2016
Ezra stock rallied another 7.8% today and it definitely seems that I have sold off my Ezra stock too early at $0.062 (see my post yesterday), compared to the closing price of $0.069. Well, though it is a fact that I have “lose out” on earning a six cents per share if I were to sell off the stock at $0.068 each, again I have to stress that this is “hindsight”, speaking from the wisdom of “hindsight”. In investing and trading, I really think that “hindsight” is cheap. Once an investor implements the closing of a trade, that is it and move on.
While it is admirable that some professional traders rake in thousands of dollars every day, I know that I am not them. I know that some of the techniques used by professional traders while lucrative for them do not suit me in terms of personality profile. Hence I have formulated my own investing and trading techniques to profit from the Singapore stocks markets. I have techniques to invest meaning leaving my capital in some stocks for them to become multi-baggers and at the other hand, I have techniques to trade profitably from the stocks markets as well.
