In my opinion, there are five types of investors who collectively form the Investing FABLE. Which of the FABLE are you?
F stands for Farmer, the investor who is willing to hold his stocks for decent returns. Like crops, stocks can be good or otherwise and similarly, a Farmer investor’s returns can be good or bad. An Investment Farmer holds his investor, similar to a real farmer taking time to cultivate his harvest.
A stands for Adventurer, the investor who seeks thrills in speculating in penny stocks or stocks which do not have good fundamentals. An Adventurer investor often relies on the small price of the penny stocks to aim for a large capital % gain of the stock price. An Adventurer could also be an intra-day trader or trader who trades on a very small timeframe, relying on market sentiments for his returns.
B stands for Bargain-Hunter, the investor who will invest only when markets head south. A Bargain-Hunter is also a contrarian investor as he believes that market downturns are opportunities to mining good stocks and unlocking good value from these stocks.
L stands for Landlord, an investor who focuses on high-dividends Reits and Trust, with an aim of passive dividend income. The Landlord investor desires that one day, the dividend income will exceed his expenditure so that he will be financially free.
E stands for Explorer, the investor who focuses on researching the fundamentals of stocks to uncover value stocks which he is confident of growing his monies multi-fold.
