I believe the GST is poised to increase this year since there have been news that Singapore will need to spend more for its healthcare needs and security needs in the coming years.

And there has also been a MOF initiative to pay young influencers to spread some awareness of the upcoming Budget.
If GST hike is to be implemented, I think the only way for me to incur less expenditure arising from the GST hike is to lunch in restaurants less and spend ever lesser.
