I have noticed that Trek 2000 International stock has gone on a trading halt only to know later that this stock is now voluntarily suspended over an auditing finding. I am not too happy about this episode. No, it is not that I am vested in the stock. I do find some of the touted new products from the company novel but I have not invested my monies in Trek 2000 International stock before. So why am I not too happy about this episode? Well, it has to do with the fact that the Thumb drive that the world is using is a Singapore’s product, a product from Trek 2000 International. Now that Trek 2000 International stock is suspended, personally, I do find this hardly an accolade to be given to the company behind the Thumb drive.

What you should know about the Singapore Stocks Markets?

Yesterday, I opened up the newspapers in the morning and learnt from the finance section that the investing community would be shaped by the financial news and meetings from around the world (e.g. the Japan’s government stance on its economy, the US Federal Reserves’ decision on interest rates, etc) and perhaps that was the reason why Singapore stocks closed more than 1.37% lower yesterday. In his take on the Singapore stocks markets on “Singapore Tonight” yesterday, David Kuo, the CEO of The Motley Fool Singapore said he was “busy” buying shares yesterday, meaning to say he is buying good shares at a discount. According to David (and this is not new), investors should not think too much of the interest rates decision as if the US Federal Reserves decides to increase interest rates, it means that the global economy is becoming better, which is good. If the US Federal Reserves decides otherwise, then it is also “business as usual” for the Singapore stocks markets. I strongly support this way of thinking, as I believe we can always profit from the stocks markets by knowing which stock to invest in, to trade too.

Being my Own Man in the Investing world

I have come out with a set of strategies to reap the most profits from the global stocks markets including Singapore’s. Many want to earn monies and many find that spending lots of time on their main employment might not be the most productive if the pay is not high with long hours spent and having to be judged by what others think that one is worth financially as sometime as a whole person. On the latter, I find it insulting to see some people still have the connotation that a Success of a person is tied to how much one earns and they may fail to see how much success others have in other aspects of lives such as giving back to the community, touching the lives of others. It is regrettable but this notion is inevitable in Singapore as our survival as a small city state had to be in the past hinge on our economic success. It is heartening to see the government now emphasizing that Success in life could be via other ladders.

How to profit from the stocks markets?

To profit from the stocks markets, as retail investors, we must know our “competitive niches”. I know it seems like business talk using this business jargon but nothing is further from the truth. “Competitive niches” are applicable for all areas of life, for example, in work, ask yourself are you better than your colleagues in terms of technical or in terms of marketing? And for men who are seeking a girlfriend, ask yourself, how are you better than your possible “competitors”? Are you more handsome, richer, more sincere, more responsible than them?

Is it time for this stock to rally next?

One of the top volume and actively traded stocks for the Singapore Stocks Markets is Noble Group stock. This is the stock which I have shared with readers that I have taken a little bit of profits on 19 Apr 2016. And indeed on yesterday, 20 Apr 2016, Noble Group stock declined by a little 2.2% price-wise, however today, Noble Group stock closed higher by 3.4%.

Will this stock head north next?

Today, the Singapore stocks markets headed up by 1.17% which is considered great given that the Singapore stocks markets have been performing quite modestly. One of the top volume stocks today was Noble Group stock, which went up by a good 4.5898% to close at $0.455. Noble Group stock is one of the stocks which I shared with readers some time ago that I consider to be bullish and today, the performance of this stock once again validates my thinking for this stock. I took a little profit off this stock into my pockets while keeping the rest of the stock for some potential profits. If Noble Group stock goes down in price, I will buy more into it at lower costs.

My outlook on the Singapore stocks markets, global stocks markets

I have been real busy at work for the past few days, which led me to spending lesser time on the blog; however I am still looking at the Singapore stocks markets and making my market outlook and assumptions.

Will this stock turn more bullish and uptrend next?

Noble Group stock headed by 3.5% on increased volume today and with a gap up, suggesting more bullishness to come. Noble Group stock may attempt to test $0.49, a level it reached on 23 Mar 2016 and which is the current resistance. At $0.44 today, it suggests a potential upside of 11.36% if this stock continues to be guided by bullish investors.

Will you Buy this Good stock that is currently oversold?

When it comes to investing and trading, different investors have different trading methods. Some rely on complex trading algorithm; others depend on what the others are buying. For myself, I rely on a technique which I have been using and honing over the years. Some investors rather zoom in on one good stock, believing in the management and the fundamentals of the company, so that they will keep investing their dollars in the stock when the price heads north or south.

Annual General Meetings: THE HARD TRUTH

I received some mailers with regard to the annual general meetings of the companies which I have stock investments in. There were two companies which had their AGM on the same day which means that I could only choose to attend one AGM on the same day since to add, both AGMs will also be held at the same time.

Will this Singapore stock rally next?

Many investors are looking for some stocks ideas in the current Singapore stocks markets which are behaving differently. Some say the Singapore stocks markets are consolidating, some say the Singapore stocks markets will rally up next, some say that the downgrade of Singapore banks means that Singapore stocks markets will be the next to be “downgrade” next, meaning to say, there may be a stocks markets corrections. Whatever it is, I believe when it comes to investing, we are responsible for our own investing choices hence we must form our own personal outlook of the larger stocks markets ourselves and choose the stocks which we want to invest in with our own personal conviction.

Investing in Yourself

In Singapore, there is now an emphasis on lifelong learning. This is timely considering that industries today are not like industries before and there is constant reinvention of jobs as skills required for the workforce change in quality and quantity. While many people interpret investing in oneself as equipping oneself with new and additional skills, I must add to this definition that investing in oneself could also mean learning investing skills, learning how to be profitable and consistent as an investor, as a trader. For most often than not, in Singapore, which is the most expensive city in the world according to some reports, I believe many will want to become richer, not just to become wealthy but to really offset the high cost of living and have some little more extra savings.

Should you invest into these stocks recommended by Singapore’s top financial analyst?

I watched the episode of Moneyweek yesterday. Towards the end of the show, there was an interview with one of Singapore’s top financial analyst. According to the analyst, for Singapore stocks markets to be deemed bullish, the STI must first cross above the 2,950. a resistance level. As of today, the STI was 2,813.59; hence the STI must still advance by around 4.85% to this level. Thereafter, the STI must still advance to the 3,100 level.

Seven stocks Warren Buffet bets Bigs on for year 2016, should you follow?

We all know Warren Buffet is an investing legend and is one of the richest men on earth. When Warren Buffet speaks, many listen. Many investors including newbie investors have also been reading his books on investing. While some may think that Warren Buffet’s investing philosophy may not work in these more dynamic market times, we must know first and foremost that Warren Buffet’s investing premises centre on the business model itself. This is still a compelling notion provided one does regular and rigorous evaluation of the business of the stock he is investing in since we know business is run by people and management does change afterall.

Should you avoid these Singapore stocks now?

In investing, while one should know which stocks to buy, one should also know which group of stocks one should avoid, especially if the industries will become tougher going forward.

A massive global recession?

According to the leading Republican candidate for the US President Elections, Mr Donald Trump, the world is headed for a “massive recession (you can read the link here). Mr Donald Trump has been saying quite a lot of things on many things and not all of his comments have been well-received by the segments of the US society and some countries. His latest remarks on the global stocks markets will definitely not be received well by investors who believe in the US economy stock and that China’s economy is doing quite okay.

Many Singapore investors focus on the big three local bank stocks in Singapore: DBS, OCBC and UOB. In this internet era, it is advantageous to look at worldwide international bank stock counters too.

Is this another way of better investing returns for investors?

When it comes to investing, equities and properties come first and foremost to the minds of many investors, especially equities, more commonly known as stocks for they are more “liquid” than properties. What we know when we invest in a stock is that we are investing for a stake in a public listed company. In Singapore’s context, the stock can be on either the SGX’s mainboard or the Catalist.

In the current Singapore stocks markets, where there are no clear leads pointing to bullishness in the Singapore stocks markets and where some good blue-chip stocks have already rallied up, it may be worthwhile for Singapore investors to consider stocks which are currently quite oversold to a level which is below what they should be worth. RHB Invest has come out with a list of 16 such stocks for investors’ consideration. Thanks to SGShareInvestor which shares the list via three links (you can read the links here: link 1 , link 2 , link 3 ). And here is the list of the 16 stocks:
