How can investors still profit after Brexit?

The Brexit might not be welcomed by investors as most stocks were down following UK’s decision. Though my stock portfolio was also affected by Brexit, the southing of my stocks differ and there are really some stocks which head north in price even after the Brexit. You might ask how could it be possible for stocks to rise when the whole stocks markets are heading south? Well, why not?

Eight gems of investing

The Brexit might have caused unhappiness among some investors but investing is not all about making profits. Here I share with you eight gems of investing, in my humble opinion:

1) I get to understand more about the world and the financial markets.

2) I now have further insights into how wealth is created.

What should investors do now?

Ever since the “Brexit”, there has been a flurry of articles online with regard to grasping the implications of this “Brexit” on global and financial stocks markets. I always think that the repercussions of the Brexit is not that instant and that one-off. The ramifications of Brexit are wide-ranging; it is not just UK but the world stocks investors’ confidence will be eroded since the Brexit might be the tip of the iceberg to the stability of a seeming strong European Union. Some European countries still have a high level of debt and it was also just in some years ago that we had the Greece debt saga. Investors also continue to look at the rate hike decision and the job for the mist powerful man on earth as clues for investing.

The Best strategies now in Singapore stocks

Singapore stocks traded today on the first day after “Brexit”; the STI went south by 0.20%. There is probably not much interest among investors in Singapore stocks today since after “Brexit”; the question first and foremost on many investors’ mind is what is next after this Brexit for the global stocks markets, for the other nations in the European Union or even those in the United Kingdom (already, there have been talks in Scotland that it may want to become independent away from United Kingdom and vote to be in the European Union)?

Today is the final day of operation of UNDERWATER WORLD SENTOSA in Singapore after a good quarter of a century. I will miss the closing of Underwater World as Underwater World Sentosa is one of Singapore’s earliest places of attraction and it is a place which I have visited when I was in my primary school days. I still remembered going there when I was a kid and hence it was with a tinge of sadness that I returned to Underwater World Sentosa to bid adieu to it. Though the rationale behind the closing of Underwater World Sentosa is more due to commercial decisions, I cannot help but regret at the closing of yet another old, familiar and memorable place of attraction.

BREXIT: what are the implications to investors?

So, Brexit has been confirmed. Britain has voted to exit the European Union and the news all over the world is talking about the implications of Brexit. The stocks markets were the fast to respond to the Brexit and the immediate southing of the various stock indices while not small are in my personal opinion, not as large as widely expected indeed. However, does it mean that investors can now head in and buy some good stocks now trading cheaply. Well, if only it were that easy. The effects of Brexit as many analysts have said would be long-lasting.

Britain has voted and the counting of polls is underway. The British votes on the European Union membership: to stay within EU or not will have an effect on Asian stocks markets first once the results are announced later in the day. As I learnt from the TV news yesterdays, major financial and stocks markets are making preparation should the result be a “Brexit”. Today will be a day closely watched by all global investors as definitely, the scale of the effect of the Brexit is significant on the stocks markets.

Dear readers, the whole global business and investing fraternity will be looking at whether Britain will vote to leave the Euro. Should Britain choose to leave the Eurozone, then the effects of this decision will definitely have a bearing on the global stocks markets both immediate as well as lasting for quite some time. Against this backdrop, it is not wise to go buying stocks for now if one has not reached a level of trading that will allow one to liquidate profits easily from their stocks positions. Some might think that since the preliminary informal votes point to a greater likelihood that Britain will stay in Euro, there is a good opportunity to buy some stocks now for stocks markets will then rebound if Britain really chooses to stay in the Eurozone; I would think that this form of thinking is akin to gambling.

Will the stock markets crash with “Brexit”?

The referendum on whether England should stay within the Eurozone reminds me of an event of a similar scale that shaped the global stocks markets some time ago and that was the resolution talks of he Greek debt talks.

Ever since the Greek debt was successfully negotiated, the global stocks markets have been consolidating with only a more evident sell-down in January 2016 brought along by the then-fears of China’s economy and its stock markets. And then investors kept and are still keeping a close look on what the Federal Reserves say about the interest rate and when the interest rate hike will take place. This interest rate factor in my opinion has already been factored into the minds of all investors alike.

How You can profit from the stocks markets?

Many retail investors may be impressed by the profitable records of successful traders. The ability to seemingly conjure profits from the air, juxtaposed with the impressive trade records on a consistent basis seems to make profitable investing and trading a cinch.

In this internet era, there are more of the more profitable traders turning to the internet to share their track records and hence it may reinforce the message that profiting from the stocks markets is easy.

Secrets to profitable investments: buy F stocks

Dear readers, today I am going to share with you a secret to profitable investments and that is to buy F stocks. I know the word F is a sensitive word and for those of us who have been through NS; the letter F seems to be some rude words. But don’t get me wrong, here we are talking about an important and educated subject.

Should investors still buy into this STI stock?

Many Singapore investors have the perception that STI constituent stocks are relatively safer investments. While this could be quite true, we also note that these stocks are not “sheltered” from global stocks markets rout or a decline in a particular industry. Also, the business of STI constituent stocks could not always be smooth-sailing and hence when investors are not happy with what they note in a business, selling pressure could reign over any established track record.

An Investment Trap that All investors should know

With banks still paying humble interest rates, many fellow Singaporeans have become investors, jumping onto the investing bandwagon, becoming more financially-savvy and in the process, I would think that it is easy to succumb to temptation of taking more investing risks. I would leave investing risks to a topic for another post but today, I would like to remind all investors of an investment trap and that is the advice of our friends.

These nine billons-dollars caps stock are trading at 52-week lows, should you buy them now?

Some investors shrug off penny stocks as they deem that these stocks are riskier. On the converse, there are investors who prefer to invest in billion-dollar stocks deeming these as stocks belonging to companies which have an established presence. While the latter statement is somehow true, but over the years, we have seen how billion-dollar cap companies can also be “victims” of global stocks markets rout or slump in commodity, energy or shipping industries.

Would you buy these attractive Singapore stocks now?

I believe in these current times, Singapore investors are looking more at the fundamental of the stocks that they are considering to invest in, given that over time good fundamental stocks will still be able to realize their valuation or potential. What makes a stock good? Is it the dividend factor? Is it that the stock has little debt or is it that the stock is undervalued?

Three things Singapore investors need to do when buying Singapore stocks now

The Singapore stocks market benchmark index, STI went south by 1.38% as of this time in writing. Looking at the top volume stocks, we see many stocks headed south. There is currently more selling pressure than buying pressure in the Singapore stocks markets and it is not difficult to know why that is so. It is because there are key macro events which will be shaping the Singapore stocks markets.

How to earn monies from the stock markets?

I believe everyone can be rich; far richer than what he or she earns in work. However, since we spend so much of our time at work, the only way to become richer other than setting up a business is through investing. Lots of people have lost a relatively large amount of monies in the stock markets while others have lots of their monies stuck in their portfolio. I believe when it comes to profitable investing, the first and most important thing is to have a Plan; next comes the more important part: discipline.

One question profitable investors ask

Ever since the setup of this blog, some readers may be asking how much I am earning from my stocks; my investing or trading strategies. To me, this question is not relevant at all as the most important question I hope you will ask and ask yourself and not me is how much you earn from the stock markets. Unlike some financial bloggers, I do not share the profits from my investments since the very aim of this blog is to educate investors through the sharing of my investment journey.

Yesterday, I posted about whether it is time to invest into Best World International stock, a 420% year-to-date multi-bagger Singapore stock. Today, Best World International stock went south by 22.9%, making it one of the top losing stock on SGX today. As I have mentioned to readers, it is not good to chase stock for stock which go higher and higher very rapidly without solid reasons to do so. Is it still time to invest into this year-to-date 420% multi-bagger Singapore stock?

On the first trading day of this year, the price of this stock was $0.33 and yesterday, the price of this stock was $1.39 and hence to-date, the stock price has multiplied by around 420%, a no means feat which is rare for the Singapore stocks markets here. What is this stock? Well, it is none other than a now already not-as-unfamiliar name in the Singapore stocks markets: Best World International Limited stock, an investment holding company which is into personal wellness products.

Singapore Stocks Markets up or down now?

I saw another stocks chart this morning and it is regarding how the S&P index may be heading south. This is another of a slew of charts put out on the internet which I have seen that show or reflect the bearish views of netizens on the global stock markets. Some people say the stock markets will crash in year 2016 and hence are waiting for the stock markets to crash so as to buy at the bottom. Others are more optimistic and think that compared with the stocks markets of year 2008; the markets these days are much better.

Would you still invest in these stocks?

As I was doing my shopping these days, I could not help but notice that there were more shops which have closed. I am not alone in my observations as there have been some reports on more tenants not renewing their leases. Obviously, ecommerce has its impact on brick and mortar shops. In view of the local tenancy backdrop and the growing popularity of ecommerce, I am not bullish on stocks vested in retail spaces or even retail Reits. Some more, the retail scene will head even south when economies are not doing well. I prefer equities with macro catalysts.

The number one rule in Singapore’s current stocks markets

Against the current stock markets backdrop, many investors may be wondering whether it is time to cash out their stocks since there have been so much talks on stock markets crash; even if they have to incur some cash losses. The feeling and sentiment of investors is understandable since the Singapore stocks markets are trading without much leads or clues and on the horizon, there are the US interest rates decision; the UK’s vote on the “Brexit”; Greece’s discussion on debt just to name a few.

Thank You Noble Group stock!

Noble Group announced today that it is issuing rights at 11 cents. Also, it was announced that the Chairman Richard Elman is stepping down. If investors thought that the short-sellers’ damming reports, the credit firms’ downgrades, the southing of Noble Group’s share price and profits and the resignation of Ali as the CEO are already too much to absorb then I am not sure whether the two announcements are really the last straws for Noble Group.

One simple way to profit from the Singapore stocks markets

Many investors might have been thinking that trading and investing are difficult as most of the time; the stock price heads south the moment they buy the stock. Though I am a seasoned investor and trader, I acknowledge the above fact. However I think that there is still a higher chance for investors to profit from the markets if they have one attribute and that is discipline.

Should you be investing?

Sometime ago, I read a newspaper headline which states that two third of the adults here have not invested. By just reading the headline, it seems to give the impression that those who have not invested are missing on something that is profitable. But if you are to ask those around you who have invested, there is a high chance that they have or are still having feedback from the stock markets: you should know what I mean, that is it is hard for them to profit in stocks consistently.
