HAPPY LABOUR DAY 2024 EVERYONE!
Dear readers, today is Labour Day and I wish all employees a Happy Labour Day 2024!
The first Labour Day parade and celebration took place on September 5, 1882, in New York City, organized by the Central Labor Union. The event was meant to bring together workers from different trades and industries to demonstrate their solidarity and demand better working conditions.
In 1894, Labour Day was officially recognized as a federal holiday in the United States by President Grover Cleveland, following the deaths of several workers during the Pullman Strike. The holiday was intended to provide a day off for workers to celebrate their accomplishments and the progress made in the labour movement.
Labour Day is now celebrated on different dates in various countries around the world, but the message remains the same - to recognize and appreciate the contributions of workers to society and to continue advocating for fair wages, safe working conditions, and workers' rights. It is a day to honor the achievements of the labour movement and to reflect on the ongoing struggles faced by workers in the modern world.
