TOM K: YES, THIS SECTOR COULD SEE SOME CONSOLIDATION
Dear readers, if you are looking at some investment themes amidst the current stocks markets backdrop; I would not agree with you more that these themes are not apparent. Since most of the sentiments in the stocks markets are weighed more by the trade rhetoric, and factors like the US interest rate hikes and these have affected stocks markets sentiments of the regional and local stocks markets.
I have earlier shared some investment themes with you readers: themes like how the offshore and marine sector should have some form of consolidation in Sembcorp Marine being taken private (just my own personal thinking) amidst others. Today, I would like to highlight that there could be more consolidation to come in one sector and that sector is none other than the industrial Reits.
I agree with some analysts that following the merger of ESR-Reit and Viva Industrial Trust, there could be more M&A or consolidation in the industrial Reits sector, especially on the smaller Reits. Of particular interest may be SoilBuild Industrial Reit and Cache Logistics Trust. Join the emailing list to receive regular Financial and Singapore stocks newsletters too!
