Dear readers, we are soon about to usher in Year 2019. I believe many investors would prefer not to remember Year 2018 where investing is concerned. Since the general equity markets have been on the decline; with vagaries set in and think it had not been a rosy outing for many investors here. Against this backdrop let us take a look at the three worst-performing Singapore blue-chip stocks of 2018.

Dear readers, while we have next Monday 31 Dec 2018 to go for the last trading day of Year 2018, but pretty much the STI constituent stocks which were oversold have been confirmed. Without further ado, let us take a look at the Oversold STI stocks for Year 2018 below.

Dear readers, How time flies. Although it sounds like a cliché, let me say it once more time: “How time flies!” And soon, we will be ushering in a brand New Year 2019! Year 2018 would be over soon. And for investors, Year 2018 should be recalled as a year where the seemingly bullish markets could be well be corrected. I mean there have been episodes of volatiles which resulted in the downward spiral of global equities markets.

Dear readers, there is currently ONE Singapore stock, which is trading: a) with a Return-on-Equity of more than 25%; b) at less than 5% from its 52-weeks trading low; and c) with a low debt-to-equity ratio of 3.31%

Dear readers, as at this time of writing, the US stocks markets continue to be very bearish with the very lacklustre performance of the three major indices:

Dear readers, the result of the Jan 2019 Singapore Savings Bond application is out! Of the maximum offer of the Singapore Savings Bond at $300million, the total amount applied is $381.735million; this translates to a subscription of 127.2% or 27.2% over-subscription!

Dear readers, against the current stocks markets backdrop, which of the blue-chip stocks are trading at their 52-weeks lows? Without further ado, let us look at the top three such stocks now.

Dear readers, Facebook stock is currently trading at USD$128 per share (at this time of writing), which is near to its 52-week trading low of USD $123.02. Year-to-date, Facebook stock price reached an intra-year high of USD $218.62, thus Facebook stock had really slumped by approximately 41.5%!

Dear readers, yesterday I shared a post on SSI's Facebook dated a year ago where an analyst shared her perspectives of the performance of the STI by end 2019. The analyst was of the view that the STI could reach 4,400 by end 2019 (you could visit the aforementioned post here  ).
