TEMASEK RETAIL BONDS: TO APPLY OR NOT?

Temasek Retail Bonds
Dear readers, it was announced yesterday that Temasek Holdings would release another tranche of bonds which would target the retail investors as part of the subscribers of the bonds along with institutional investors. This bonds is called T2023 bonds and the issuance of this bonds reminds me of a recent retail bonds, Astrea IV bond, also from a Temasek-linked subsidiary.

Together with the Singapore Savings bonds as well as fixed deposits from various banks, I believe retail investors are spoilt for choices when it comes to growing their monies risk-free or with little risk.

But I would like to suggest that retail investors do not overly park too much of their liquidity into bonds or related instruments as they may have to hold their liquidity for quite some time and hence this would not allow them to have the bandwidth to deploy their capital to tap opportunities from the equity markets should the opportunities arise.

I would recommend Singapore Savings bonds or fixed deposits with not much of a holding period so that retail investors need not park their monies for long and would have the bandwidth to grow their monies with a higher margin by investing at the right time in the equity markets.
