I appreciate all your support for Singapore Stocks Investing blog as it has not been easy to juggle our busy lives to connect on this platform here (for myself, finding time to write and for yourselves, finding time to read what I have written).

From my investing experience, I would like to share with you the below on my model of profitable investing for Singapore investors.

In investing, there are two main techniques: Value Investing and Technical Analysis.

First on Value Investing

There has been a growing interest in Value Investing but what I found this technique limiting is that the fundamental information the investors know is limited to what the listed company puts out. Hence there could be some important information that investors would not have factored for in doing a fundamental analysis. Also, the world today sees seismic shifts in all industries, brought mainly by technology disruption. And hence my sense is that even if the investor has all the information to carry out some value analysis, would their assumption for future growth of the company in today’s era be accurate against the backdrop of wide industry changes?

Next on Technical Analysis

I had spent a fair bit of time looking at technical charts and I could say is that not all the technical patterns work equally well on all company’s charts. But my main thought will be that the data used for analysis is past data but today’s markets are always so dynamic.

After years of investing, I realized the best way to profit for Singapore investors is to take advantage of the fairly stable Singapore’s stocks markets here via investing in STI and having it as its core.
