US STOCKS MARKETS PERFORMANCE ON PREVIOUS CHRISTMAS

Dear readers, a Merry Christmas to All of you!

In today’s post, let us take a look at the performance of the US Stocks markets for previous Christmas. For this post, I will only be looking at one stock US stock index, the NASDAQ.

Let us look at the performance of Nasdaq on recent Christmas days (as a note: I have chosen mostly 26 Dec 23 for the closing since stocks markets are closed on public holidays like Christmas days):

December 26, 2015: 5,007.41

December 26, 2016: 5,432.09

December 26, 2017: 6,950.04

December 26, 2018: 6,554.36

December 26, 2019: 8,945.99

December 26, 2020: 12,804.73

December 26, 2021: 16,509.16

December 27, 2022: 10,497.86 (US stock markets closed on 26 Dec 2022)

December 23, 2023: 14,992.97 (most recent closing)

From what we can note of the above, the NASDAQ has increased by about 200% since Dec 2015! This attests to many long-term investors that stock markets do appreciate over the longer term. However there is no guarantee that the NASAQ will keep increasing in the near or medium term and please note that this article is not an investment recommendation or advice!
