Dear readers, yesterday is “Yuan Xiao Jie”, the fifteen day of the Chinese Lunar New Year and the official last day of Chinese Lunar New Year 2018. To celebrate the festival, I went home and had a good meal with my family. And at the same time, I was reminded that yesterday was also the day for the Chinese Lunar New Year HongBao TOTO draw with the top prize of $12 million dollars. Having earlier forgotten to buy TOTO (I make it a point to buy the annual HongBao TOTO every year), I rushed down to the nearest Singapore Pools outlet after dinner and bought a combination of entries (made up of both QuickPick and my own selection). I paid $22 and quickly went home to await the results.

Dear readers, I returned to work yesterday after taking some days of leave during the Chinese New Year holidays. Before Chinese New Year, I was really hard at work in my house, tidying and scrubbing during the annual spring cleaning. During Chinese New Year, I have been eating lots of snacks and gaining some fats as well as watching some well-deserved movies on TV. Now after Chinese New Year, it is back to work as usual.

Dear readers, the Singapore stocks markets, after experiencing some correction seem to have found support. The STI ETF, an ETF which tracks the broader Singapore stocks markets bounced off its 100-Days-Moving Average which seems to be a good support for the STI.

Dear readers, this is a reminder that today is Li Chun, a day when you would see long snaking queues in front of ATM machines (I believe you would have noticed that already today) and when all “depositors” of monies into their bank accounts wish for prosperity in the coming Chinese New Year.

Dear readers, do you know what is one thing that you should do tomorrow to increase your wealth? No, I am not recommending you to go out and buy 4D tomorrow. Tomorrow is actually the day of Li Chun, and hence do not be surprised to see very long queues of people at the banks ATM machines tomorrow! I commenced the spring cleaning of my house with my wife yesterday. The Chinese New Year is coming and it is our tradition to spring-clean the house. With workdays spent a work, it leaves me and my wife only weekends to do some spring cleaning, hence there are only the weekends from now to Chinese New Year to do spring cleaning.
