HOW TO BE THE BEST VERSION OF OUR POSSIBLE SELF?

Dear readers, much has been talked about being the Best version of our possible self.

I would link this concept to making the Best use of our limited lives in earth.

Indeed, as Oliver Burkeman said it best in his book titled, “Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals”, if we live up to 80 years old, we will have just slightly over 4,000 weeks in our life.

We see many pursuing, wealth, fame and power on earth but these are just fleeting things which may not necessarily translate to the most meaningful lives on earth.

Rather, I believe in making a positive difference, a contribution to those around us.

In modern times, more and more people are seeking meaning in their work and the traditional pursuit of monies, fame and power are starting to recede in terms of importance, especially for the younger generations.

And not to mention, after Covid-19, more and more people are seeking what they really want in career and lives.

Being of service to the community is pivotal to leading meaningful lives and this means being the best version of our possible self.

Psychologist Laura King coined the term “Best Possible Version of Ourselves”. And while there are many things people may need to do to be their best possible version of themselves, to me, there is one key element to this. And this key element is none other than to RELEARN and unlearn those things that need to be unlearnt as we progress in our journey of life!

Such learning, unlearning and relearning is not easy, in a world that constantly demands evidence and proof, as it can be easy to fall into the trap of only believing in things that are tangible and immediately visible.

However, it is crucial to remember that true belief in oneself can be the driving force behind achieving our goals and aspirations.

Having faith in oneself means trusting in our abilities and our decisions, even when we may not see immediate results.

It means pushing through challenges and setbacks with unwavering determination, knowing that our hard work will eventually pay off.

Belief is not just about seeing results, but about having the courage to take risks, to step outside of our comfort zones, and to pursue our dreams with passion and conviction.

When we truly believe in ourselves, we open ourselves up to a world of possibilities and opportunities.

So, dear readers, I urge you to have faith in yourself and in your abilities.

Believe in the power of your dreams and never underestimate the strength of your determination.

When you believe in yourself, anything is possible.

Believe, and you will see and you will become the Best version of your Possible Self!
