Dear readers, yesterday, 800 Super Holdings stock, a typically quiet waste-related stock dived 25% after announcing a set of non-rosy results before closing the trading day 18.8% lower. 800 Super Holdings stock has had a SUPER run from the day of its listing on SGX to a peak in 2017 before yesterday’s stock price dive put to WASTE the SUPER run of this WASTE-related stock called 800 SUPER stock (all PUN 101% intended).

In essence, for those applicants who applied for the bonds worth $45,000 or lower, they were allotted the worth of bonds which they applied for. Dear readers, Noble Group had that meet-or-break meeting on Monday 27 Aug 2018 where shareholders voted in favor of Noble Group’s proposed restructuring of its businesses. After the trading halt was lifted yesterday, Noble Group stock price went up to an intra-day high of $0.159 from the price of $0.15 before trading halt; however the stock price dived to a low of $0.11 before closing the trading day 14.1% lower at $0.128. With such a volatility ever after shareholders approved of Noble Group’s restructuring, I think it is better for investors to stay clear of this stock; just my opinion.

As of 17 Aug 2018, the STI closed at 3,209.44 which is not far off from the 3,191.82 reached on 2 Jul 18. I would continue to think that the STI would continue this downward movement to below 3,000 and thereafter to 2,880 on the back of macro developments. In fact, there is even more impetus to push global stocks markets including Singapore into more bear territory with the Turkish currency factor.

Before we go into reviewing the interest rates for this latest issue, it was stated on the Singapore Savings Bond website that the monthly issuance size of the Singapore Savings Bond programme has been increased to $300 million from this month. Before this increase of issuance size, the monthly issuance size had been $250 million, thus it would be good news for investors since the allotment per investor for the Sep 18 Singapore Savings Bonds would likely be higher compared to previous issues.
